Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image projection device capable of expanding an operation temperature upper limit range.SOLUTION: An image projection device 1 includes: a lamp 17 for emitting light; an image display element 10a for forming an image by using light from the lamp 17; a lamp fan for cooling the lamp 17; and control means for controlling the lamp 17, the image display element 10a, and a lamp fan 25. When the lamp 17 is driven by a drive power by less than the predetermined power, a lamp recovery process for increasing the drive power at least up to the predetermined drive power is executed at a predetermined timing.
