Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens having a wide field angle and a large variable power ratio while being compact and having satisfactorily corrected aberrations, and to provide an image apparatus with the same.SOLUTION: A zoom lens includes, in order from an object side: a first lens group having a positive focal distance; a second lens group having a negative focal distance; a third lens group having a positive focal distance; a fourth lens group having a negative focal distance; and a fifth lens group having a positive focal distance. The third lens group has, in order from the object side: a lens having a positive focal distance; a lens having a positive focal distance; and a cemented lens having a lens having a negative focal distance and a lens having a positive focal distance.
