Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acrylic fiber having excellent whiteness even when manufactured with containing a monomer, which is a raw material during manufacturing an acrylic synthetic fiber, a polymer and iron in an organic solvent and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: There is provided a white acrylic fiber consisting of an acrylonitrile-based copolymer contains at least acrylonitrile, an ethylenic vinyl monomer and a sulfonic acid-containing vinyl monomer as polymerization components, wherein added amount of a chelator during polymerization of the acrylonitrile-based copolymer is 0.001 g/L to 0.05 g/L in a feedstock during polymerization.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】本発明は、アクリル系合成繊維を製造する際の原料である単量体、重合体および有機溶媒中に鉄分が含まれて製造した場合においても、優れた白色性を有するアクリル系繊維とその製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】本発明は少なくともアクリロニトリル、エチレン性ビニルモノマーおよびスルホン酸含有ビニル系モノマーを重合成分として含むアクリロニトリル系共重合体からなる繊維であって、前記のアクリロニトリル系共重合体の重合時のキレート剤の添加量が重合時の仕込原料中に、0.001g/L以上0.05g/L以下であることを特徴とする白色アクリル系繊維である。【選択図】 なし
