Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a raw wood cutting method to suitably be selected so that the yield and productivity of the whole of veneers may improve while making the ratio of a production number of veneers approximate a predetermined ratio.SOLUTION: A raw wood cutting controller comprises a first calculation part 72 that calculates a first volume representing the volume of a part capable of producing first veneers in the case where raw wood RW is not divided, a second calculation part 73 that calculates a second volume representing the volume of a part capable of producing second veneers in the case where raw wood RW is 2-divided at the center, and a cutting method decision part 74 that decides to cut the raw wood RW without dividing the raw wood RW when the proportion of the second volume to the first volume is smaller than a predetermined threshold value, and to cut the raw wood RW by 2 division at the center when larger than a threshold value. This manner enables the ratio of the number of first veneers to be produced to the number of second veneers approximate a predetermined ratio.
