PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cut a tatami mat so that mesh valleys of the tatami mat may have a straight line form or in a parallel form with the straight line of the mesh valleys of the tatami mat when cut with a tatami mat cutter.SOLUTION: A tatami mat cutter equipped with a sensor for sensing the height or depth of a mesh valley of the tatami mat and a sensor for sensing the height or depth of a slope part of rush at right and left positions of equal distance or nearly equal distance from the mesh valley of the tatami mat in a width direction to sense whether the tatami mat is transported along the mesh valley of the tatami mat from data of the height or depth of a mesh valley of the tatami mat in the width direction, data of the height or depth of a slope part of rush at a right position of a mesh valley of the tatami mat in the width direction, and data of the height or depth of a slope part of rush at a left position of a mesh valley of the tatami mat in the width direction, and to cut along the mesh valley of the tatami mat or in parallel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 【課題】畳表裁断機において畳表を裁断するときに、畳表の目の谷を一直線状に切断したい、あるいは畳表の目の谷の一直線と平行な直線になるように切断させたいという要望があった。【解決手段】畳表を搬送して、畳表の幅方向の裁断を行う畳表裁断機において、畳表の目の谷の高さ又は深さを検出するセンサーと、畳表の目の谷から幅方向左右に目の谷から等距離又はほぼ等距離の位置のイ草の傾斜部の高さ又は深さを検出するセンサーとを具備し、畳表の目の谷の高さ又は深さデータと、畳表の目の谷の幅方向右の位置のイ草の傾斜部の高さ又は深さデータと、畳表の目の谷の幅方向左の位置のイ草の傾斜部の高さ又は深さデータから、畳表の目の谷に沿って畳表が搬送されているかどうかを検出し、搬送補正機構によって畳表の目の谷に沿ってあるいは平行に裁断する畳表裁断機を提供する。【選択図】 図６
