Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a multilayer film which can uniformly form a metal tone coating film with high brightness even in coating by a weak solvent-based coating composition containing a scaly metal pigment, and thereby can form all of coating films constituting the multilayer film from the weak solvent-based coating composition.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for forming a multilayer film which includes the steps of: coating the surface of a base material with an epoxy resin-based coating composition to form a first coating film; coating the first coating film with an enamel coating composition to form a second coating film; and coating the second coating film with a metallic coating composition to form a third coating film, where a content of a nonvolatile content in the metallic coating composition is 35 to 50 mass%, a content of a scaly metal pigment in the nonvolatile content is 15 to 40 mass%, and an organic solvent contained in each of the coating compositions contains 50 mass% or more of a weak solvent of which a mixed aniline point or an aniline point according to JIS K 2256 is in a range of 12-70°C.SELECTED DRAWING: None
【課題】鱗片状金属顔料を含む弱溶剤系塗料組成物による塗装であってもムラなく高輝度な金属調塗膜を形成することができ、これにより、複層膜を構成するすべての塗膜を弱溶剤系塗料組成物から形成可能である複層膜の形成方法を提供する。【解決手段】基材表面をエポキシ樹脂系塗料組成物で塗装して第1塗膜を形成させる工程と、該第1塗膜をエナメル塗料組成物で塗装して第2塗膜を形成させる工程と、該第2塗膜をメタリック塗料組成物で塗装して第3塗膜を形成させる工程とを含み、ここで、前記メタリック塗料組成物中における不揮発分の含有量が35〜50質量%であり、かつ該不揮発分中における鱗片状金属顔料の含有量が15〜40質量%であり、各塗料組成物に含まれる有機溶剤が、JIS K 2256に規定される混合アニリン点又はアニリン点が12〜70℃の範囲内にある弱溶剤を50質量%以上含むことを特徴とする複層膜の形成方法である。【選択図】なし |
