Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser projection display device that can improve response to the rise of a laser beam and display high-quality images.SOLUTION: A laser projection display device 1 comprises: a laser light source 5; a laser driver 4 that drives the laser light source; and an image processing part 2 that supplies an image signal for display to the laser driver. When the image signal includes a black pixel duration, the image processing part applies a preliminary light emission signal 53 for performing preliminary light emission to the image signal 50 during a predetermined period (t0 to t1) immediately before the image signal with a black pixel is switched to a signal other than the black pixel. In particular, the preliminary light emission processing is performed in reducing the maximum intensity of the laser light source to be operated in a dark image area, and a signal L0 with the intensity corresponding to 1/10 or less of the maximum intensity in the dark image area is applied as the preliminary light emission signal 53.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】レーザ光の立ち上がり応答を改善し、高品質な画像を表示可能なレーザ投射表示装置を提供する。【解決手段】レーザ投射表示装置1は、レーザ光源5とこれを駆動するレーザドライバ4と、レーザドライバに表示用の画像信号を供給する画像処理部2と、を備える。画像処理部は、画像信号が黒画素継続期間を有するとき、黒画素から黒画素以外の信号に切り替わる直前の所定期間(t0〜t1)において、画像信号50に対し予備発光を行うための予備発光信号53を印加する。特にこの予備発光処理は、レーザ光源の最大光量を低下させて暗画像領域で動作させるときに行い、予備発光信号53として、暗画像領域における最大光量Laの1/10以下に相当する信号L0を印加する。【選択図】図5
