Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce agitation resistance of a gear.SOLUTION: In an automobile transmission, a transmission case 10 and a cover 80 for sealing an opening of the transmission case 10 are assembled to each other in a rotating shaft direction of a final gear F, and an accommodation chamber S for accommodating the final gear F is formed between a wall part 61 of the transmission case 10 and a wall part 81 of the cover 80 which are oppositely arranged in an axial line direction X3 with an interval. Coasting thickness parts 65, 85 which are bulged into the accommodation chamber S are formed at the wall part 61 and the cover 80, respectively, so that the automatic transmission in a region which opposes the wall part 61 and the final gear F of the wall part 81 becomes orthogonal a vertical linear line VL in a state that the automatic transmission is mounted to a vehicle, and that a capacity of a region at a lower side lower than a horizontal line HL in the vertical linear line VL in the accommodation chamber S becomes smaller than a capacity of a region at an upper side higher than the horizontal line HL with the horizontal line HL passing a center of the final gear F as a reference.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】ギアの撹拌抵抗を低減させる。【解決手段】変速機ケース10と、変速機ケース10の開口を封止するカバー80とを、ファイナルギアFの回転軸方向で組み付けて、軸線X3方向で間隔をあけて対向配置された変速機ケース10の壁部61とカバー80の壁部81との間に、ファイナルギアFを収容する収容室Sを形成した自動変速機において、壁部61と壁部81のファイナルギアFに対向する領域内の、自動変速機が車両に搭載された状態での鉛直線VLに直交すると共にファイナルギアFの中心を通る水平線HLを基準として、収容室S内の鉛直線VL方向における水平線HLよりも下側の領域の容積が、水平線HLよりも上側の領域の容積よりも小さくなるように、収容室S内に膨出する惰肉部65、85を、壁部61とカバー80にそれぞれ設けた構成とした。【選択図】図2
