Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric device and a driving method for the piezoelectric device which can suppress deterioration of withstanding voltage characteristics due to long-terminal deterioration and extends durable year so as to have long service life.SOLUTION: A piezoelectric device includes: a piezoelectric element 300 which has a first electrode 60, a second electrode 80 and a piezoelectric body layer 70 provided between the electrodes; and a driving system which drives the piezoelectric element 300 by applying voltage to the first electrode 60 and the second electrode 80. The driving system drives the piezoelectric element 300 at a maximum voltage lower than voltage by which tunnel current or tool Frenkel current starts to generate in the piezoelectric element 300.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
