Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light source device which emits light with high luminance into a plurality of eye-point directions, which limits light emission to the other directions and in which a structure for that purpose is simple.SOLUTION: A surface light source device includes: a light guide plate; a light source arranged at one end surface of the light guide plate; a light source or a reflection member arranged on the end surface on the opposite side; and a prism sheet arranged on the light emission side of the light guide plate and for emitting the incident light by changing the direction. The prism sheet has: a sheet-like body part having light transmissivity; and a unit prism part which is arranged on the surface side of the light guide plate side out of the body part, in which a plurality of convex unit prisms extend by having a predetermined cross section in the direction along the sheet surface of the body part, and which is arrayed in the direction different from the extending direction.
