Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a trouble caused by paper powder present on a photoreceptor, that is, a reduction in performance of cleaning means with a small amount of toner supply.SOLUTION: There is provided an image forming apparatus comprising: a photoreceptor; developing means that develops a latent image formed on the surface of the photoreceptor; and cleaning means that is in contact with the surface of the photoreceptor to clean the surface of the photoreceptor, and employing a system of directly transferring an image from the photoreceptor to a recording material, the image forming apparatus supplies a toner and clean only a portion on the photoreceptor corresponding to a position of a conveyance roller for conveying a recording material during a non-image formation period.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】感光体上に存在する紙粉による不具合、即ち、クリーニング手段の機能低下を少量のトナー供給で防ぐ。【解決手段】感光体と、前記感光体の表面に形成された潜像を現像する現像手段と、前記感光体の表面と接触して前記感光体の表面をクリーニングするクリーニング手段とを備え、感光体から記録材に直接転写する方式の画像形成装置において、非画像形成時に、記録材搬送用の搬送コロの位置に対応する感光体上の箇所にのみ、トナー供給を行って、クリーニングする。【選択図】図４
