Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an anti-weathering steel material in which a rust layer having the same appearance with a rust layer having been exposed for a desired period can be stably formed.SOLUTION: The present invention includes an acceleration processing step of performing processing for accelerating formation of a rust layer on a surface of an anti-weathering steel material, and an evaluating step of evaluating an appearance of the rust layer formed on the surface of the anti-weathering steel material after the acceleration processing step. The evaluating step includes a measuring step of measuring, as a measurement parameter, a color saturation aof an Labcolor system or a color saturation Cof an LCh color system on the surface of the anti-weathering steel material, and a calculating step of calculating an exposure equivalent period of the anti-weathering steel material based upon the measurement parameter measured in the measuring step, and correlation between a previously acquired measurement parameter and an actual exposure period. Then the acceleration processing step and evaluating process are repeatedly executed until the exposure equivalent period calculated in the calculating step of the evaluating step becomes equivalent to a desired exposure period.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】所望する暴露期間を経た錆層の外観と同等の外観を有する錆層を安定して形成可能な耐候性鋼材の製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】本発明は、耐候性鋼材の表面における錆層の形成を促進する処理を施す促進処理工程と、促進処理工程を経た耐候性鋼材の表面に形成された錆層の外観を評価する評価工程とを含む。評価工程は、耐候性鋼材の表面において、L*a*b*表色系の色度a*又はL*C*h表色系の彩度C*を測定パラメータとして測定する測定工程と、測定工程で測定した測定パラメータと、予め取得した測定パラメータと実際の暴露期間との相関関係とに基づき、耐候性鋼材の暴露相当期間を算出する算出工程とを含む。そして、評価工程の算出工程において算出した暴露相当期間が、所望する暴露期間と同等になるまで、促進処理工程及び評価工程を繰り返し実行する。【選択図】図3
