Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which is advantageous to improvement of non-uniformity of an optical characteristic which occurs due to asymmetry of layout of pixels.SOLUTION: An imaging element comprises plural pixels containing photoelectric conversion elements arranged in a matrix form, and a micro-lens array in which plural micro-lenses corresponding to the plural pixels are arranged. In the micro-lens array, a first group of micro-lenses having a first shape, and a second group of micro-lenses having a second shape different from the first shape are arranged. The center of a region where the micro-lenses constituting the first group are arranged is deviated from the center of an effective pixel region of the imaging element, and a region where the micro-lenses constituting the second group are arranged contains two parts which are arranged so as to sandwich the whole of the first group therebetween.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
