Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress images from being fixed at a fixing temperature corresponding to an incorrectly-set thickness of a recording medium compared with a case where an error in setting of the thickness of a recording medium is not detected.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 10 detects the thickness of a sheet from the load of a motor that drives a fixing device 24 fixing an image formed on the sheet, and when a pre-set thickness of the sheet is different from the detected thickness of the sheet, controls the fixing temperature of the fixing device 24 according to the detected thickness of the sheet.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】記録媒体の厚さの設定ミスを検知しない場合と比較して、誤って設定された記録媒体の厚さに対応した定着温度で定着されてしまうのを抑える。【解決手段】画像形成装置１０は、用紙に形成された画像を定着させる定着装置２４を駆動するモータの負荷から用紙の厚さを検知し、予め設定された用紙の厚さと、検知された用紙の厚さと、が異なる場合に、検知された用紙の厚さに合わせて定着装置２４の定着温度を制御する。【選択図】図１
