Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constantly adjust the belt tension of an auxiliary drive belt to a proper level at either of a normal operation and an engine restart by an ISG.SOLUTION: A hydraulic automatic tensioner comprises: a cylinder 10; a valve sleeve 13 which is erected in the cylinder 10; a plunger 14 which is slidably inserted into the valve sleeve 13; a rod 16 which is slidably inserted into the plunger 14; a pressure chamber 25 which is formed between and among the valve sleeve 13, the plunger 14 and the rod 16; and a reservoir chamber 27 which is formed between the cylinder 10 and the valve sleeve 13. At a normal operation of an engine E, the hydraulic automatic tensioner makes a working fluid flow to the reservoir chamber 27 from the pressure chamber 25 through a first narrowed path 31 between the rod 16 and the plunger 14, and on the other hand, at a restart by an ISG 51, makes the working fluid flow to the reservoir chamber 27 from the pressure chamber 25 through a second narrowed path 32 between the valve sleeve 13 and the plunger 14.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】補機駆動ベルトのベルト張力を、通常運転時及びISGによるエンジン再始動時のいずれにおいても常時適切な大きさに調節すること。【解決手段】シリンダ10と、シリンダ10内に立設されたバルブスリーブ13と、バルブスリーブ13に摺動自在に挿通されたプランジャ14と、プランジャ14に摺動自在に挿通されたロッド16と、バルブスリーブ13とプランジャ14及びロッド16との間に形成される圧力室25と、シリンダ10とバルブスリーブ13との間に形成されるリザーバ室27と、を備えた油圧式オートテンショナであって、エンジンEの通常運転時には、ロッド16とプランジャ14の間の第一狭窄路31を通って圧力室25からリザーバ室27に作動油を流す一方で、ISG51による再始動時には、バルブスリーブ13とプランジャ14の間の第二狭窄路32を通って圧力室25からリザーバ室27に作動油を流す。【選択図】図1
