PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell-holding substrate holder which can easily attach and detach a cell-holding substrate and a cell-holding substrate kit for preparing a cell observation specimen.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, the cell-holding substrate holder comprises: (1) a support plate 1 having a cell-holding substrate disposition part 12 having a water-permeable window portion; and (2) holding plates 2, 3 each of which has a water-permeable window portion and which can sandwich and fix a cell-holding substrate 9 on the cell-holding substrate disposition part 12 in cooperation with the support plate 1 and are detachable.
