Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor capable of maintaining a strength even in the case where stirring is performed using friction stirring, and a manufacturing method for the rotor.SOLUTION: A rotor comprises: a plurality of rod-shaped conductors; a first end ring of which one face communicates to one end of the plurality of conductors and the at least surface at a side opposite to the side communicating to the plurality of conductors is stirred by friction stirring; a second end ring which is disc-shaped and of which one face communicates to the other end of the plurality of conductors and the at least surface at a side opposite to the side communicating to the plurality of conductors is stirred by the friction stirring; and a cylindrical core which provided between the first and second end rings, a plurality of insertion holes through which the plurality of conductors can be inserted being formed in a center axis direction in the core.
