Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deterioration degree determination method that enables determination of whether a polymer aqueous solution that is to be used for a coolant in heat treatment of a metal material can be continuously used, to be performed easily and highly accurately.SOLUTION: A deterioration degree determination method for a polymer aqueous solution that is to be used for a coolant in heat treatment of a metal material includes the steps of: measuring kinetic viscosity of the polymer aqueous solution; acquiring polymer concentration of the polymer aqueous solution at a time of measuring the kinetic viscosity in the measurement process; and determining a deterioration degree of the polymer aqueous solution on the basis of the kinetic viscosity obtained in the measurement process and the polymer concentration obtained in the acquisition process. It is preferable to set a threshold line TL indicating whether the polymer aqueous solution can be continuously used or not, in a coordination system employing the kinetic viscosity and the polymer concentration as axes and determine that the polymer aqueous solution can be continuously used when the kinetic viscosity is greater than the threshold line, in the determination process. It is preferable to measure, in the acquisition process, the polymer concentration of the polymer aqueous solution at the time of measuring the kinetic viscosity in the measurement process.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】金属材料の熱処理の冷却液に用いるポリマー水溶液の継続使用の可否を容易かつ精度よく判断できる劣化度判定方法を提供する。【解決手段】劣化度判定方法は、金属材料の熱処理の冷却液に用いるポリマー水溶液の劣化度判定方法であって、ポリマー水溶液の動粘度を測定する工程と、測定工程での動粘度測定時のポリマー水溶液のポリマー濃度を取得する工程と、測定工程で得た動粘度及び取得工程で得たポリマー濃度に基づいてポリマー水溶液の劣化度を判定する工程とを備える。判定工程で、動粘度及びポリマー濃度を軸とする座標系にポリマー水溶液の継続使用の可否を示す閾値線TLを設定し、この閾値線より動粘度が大きい場合にポリマー水溶液の継続使用可能と判断するとよい。取得工程で、測定工程での動粘度測定時のポリマー水溶液のポリマー濃度を測定するとよい。【選択図】図1
