PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent overturn of a passenger on a foot step, in both of descending operation and ascending operation.SOLUTION: An escalator device comprises: plural foot steps 102 on which treads 102b are formed on an upper face; a front wheel 102c and a rear wheel 102a disposed on each foot step 102; a front wheel rail 111 on which the front wheels 102c travel; a descending side rear wheel rail 101c at a high position and an ascending side rear wheel rail 101b at a low position, on which the rear wheels 102a travel, and being disposed on lower positions lower than the position of the front wheel rail 111; and a locus switching device 100 for switching the ascending side rear wheel rail 101b and the descending side rear wheel rail 101c, positioning the rear wheels 102a on the ascending side rear wheel rail 101b in the descending operation, positioning the rear wheels 102a on the descending side rear wheel rail 101c in the ascending operation, for traveling the foot steps 102 in a state in which the treads 102b are horizontal in the ascending operation, and in a state in which tip ends 102e side of the treats 102b in the travel direction are inclined upward, relative to the horizontal direction in the descending operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】下降及び上昇のいずれの運転時にも、踏段上の乗客の転倒を防止する。【解決手段】踏面１０２ｂが上面に形成された複数の踏段１０２と、各踏段１０２に設けられた前輪１０２ｃ及び後輪１０２ａと、前輪１０２ｃが走行する前輪レール１１１と、前輪レール１１１より低い位置に設置され、後輪１０２ａが走行する高位置にある下降側後輪レール１０１ｃ及び低位置にある上昇側後輪レール１０１ｂと、上昇側後輪レール１０１ｂと下降側後輪レール１０１ｃを切り替え、上昇運転時には、後輪１０２ａを上昇側後輪レール１０１ｂ上に位置させ、下降運転時には、後輪１０２ａを下降側後輪レール１０１ｃ上に位置させることにより、上昇運転時には踏面１０２ｂを水平にした状態で、下降運転時には踏面１０２ｂの走行方向先端１０２ｅ側が水平よりも上側になるように傾斜させた状態で踏段１０２を走行させる軌道切り替え装置１００と、を備えた【選択図】図１
