Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article transport management method and an article transport management system that allow article information on an article housed in a returnable box to be read and transmitted as needed and enable the confirmation of safety and maintainability of an article during transport and a quick response when an accident occurs during transport.SOLUTION: An article transport management system comprises an RFID reader/writer including an internal communication antenna, an external communication antenna, and a power supply. There is prepared a returnable box 1 comprising an article holding tool that holds an article with an RFID tag attached so that an antenna of the RFID tag faces the internal communication antenna. The article transport management system holds the article with the article holding tool so that the antenna of the RFID tag is able to communicate with the internal communication antenna, activates the RFID reader/writer, starts communication between the internal communication antenna and the antenna of the RFID tag to read article information recorded on the RFID tag, communicates between the RFID reader/writer and a mobile terminal 9 of a transporter via the external communication antenna, and transmits the article information to an information processing device B at the recovery destination of the returnable box and/or an information processing device A at a shipment source.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】通箱に収容された物品の物品情報の随時読取り・送信を可能にして、輸送途上の物品の安全性、保全性の確認および輸送中の事故発生の場合の迅速な対処を可能にする。【解決手段】内部通信用アンテナと、外部通信用アンテナと、電源とを含むRFIDリーダライタを備える。RFIDタグが取り付けられた物品を、RFIDタグのアンテナが内部通信用アンテナに対面するように保持する物品保持具を備えた通箱1を用意する。物品を、RFIDタグのアンテナと内部通信用アンテナとの間で通信可能に物品保持具に保持し、RFIDリーダライタを起動させて、内部通信用アンテナとRFIDタグのアンテナとの間で通信させてRFIDタグに記録されている物品情報を読み取り、外部通信用アンテナを介してRFIDリーダライタと輸送者の携帯端末9との間で通信して、物品情報を通箱の回収先の情報処理装置B及び/又は出荷元の情報処理装置Aに伝送する。【選択図】図1
