PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaped metal vessel which enables the high column load during filling and closure application to be isolated to the top portion of the product packaging and to avoid packaging deformation or crushing during the fill and or application of the closure to seal the beverage.SOLUTION: A shaped metal vessel 102A-102C includes an outsert 106A-106C comprising a plurality of threads. The outsert is fitted around the outside circumference of a tapered body proximate the open end, and comprises a carry ring or carry ring edge formed around the circumference of the outsert. The plurality of threads are spirally affixed to the outer surface of the outsert to engage and secure a vessel closure 202, which is separate from the shaped metal vessel, to the shaped vessel body.
