PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve productivity more than before in a method for manufacturing a heat shielding film and a method for manufacturing an internal combustion engine using the same.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a heat shielding film includes: a blocking step S3 of blocking valve holes 4b, 4c provided in a cylinder head 4 forming a combustion chamber 5 by valves 6, 7; and a thermal spraying step S4 of thermally spraying a thermal spray material to bottom surface 4a of the cylinder head 4 and bottom surfaces 6a, 7a of the valves 6, 7 facing the combustion chamber 5 while blocking the valve holes 4b, 4c by the valves 6, 7 to form the heat shielding film 8.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】遮熱膜の製造方法及びそれを用いた内燃機関の製造方法において、従来よりも生産性を向上させる。【解決手段】燃焼室５を形成するシリンダヘッド４に設けられたバルブ穴４ｂ，４ｃをバルブ６，７によって閉鎖する閉鎖工程Ｓ３と、バルブ６，７によってバルブ穴４ｂ，４ｃを閉鎖した状態で燃焼室５に臨むシリンダヘッド４の底面４ａ及びバルブ６，７の底面６ａ，７ａに溶射材を溶射して遮熱膜８を形成する溶射工程Ｓ４と、を有する。【選択図】図１
