Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration of an image quality and enlargement in size of a device.SOLUTION: An image projection device comprises: a first mirror 14 that oscillates in a main scan direction broader than a range of an image for scanning an image light beam 52 forming an image to be projected to a retina 72 of a user in the main scan direction; a light source 12 that emits the image light beam to a first mirror in a period of time corresponding to the range of the image in reciprocal oscillation in the main scan direction of the first mirror, and emits an inspection light beam 54 to the first mirror in a period of time corresponding to an outer side with respect to the range of the image; a second mirror 16 that causes the retina of the user to reflect the image light beam reflected upon the first mirror, and causes the inspection light beam reflected upon the first mirror to be reflected in a direction different from the image light beam or causes the inspection light beam to be transmitted; an optical detector 18 that detects the inspection light beam reflected upon the second mirror or transmitting the second mirror; and a control unit 20 that controls oscillation of the first mirror and emission timing of the image light beam from the light source on the basis of a result of the detection of the optical detector.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】画像品質の劣化と装置の大型化とを抑制すること。【解決手段】ユーザの網膜72に投影する画像を形成する画像用光線52を主走査方向に走査させるため、画像の範囲より大きく主走査方向に振動する第1ミラー14と、第1ミラーの主走査方向の往復振動において、画像の範囲に相当する期間に画像用光線を第1ミラーに出射し、画像の範囲より外側に相当する時間に検出用光線54を第1ミラーに出射する光源12と、第1ミラーが反射した画像用光線をユーザの網膜に反射させ、且つ第1ミラーが反射した検出用光線を画像用光線とは異なる方向に反射させる又は検出用光線を透過させる第2ミラー16と、第2ミラーで反射した又は第2ミラーを透過した検出用光線を検出する光検出器18と、光検出器の検出結果に基づいて、第1ミラーの振動と光源からの画像用光線の出射タイミングとを調整する制御部20と、を備える画像投影装置。【選択図】図1
