PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a decrease in sheet conveying precision of sheet conveyance due to tension variation of a sheet with a simple constitution.SOLUTION: A sheet conveying device comprises: a conveying part which comprises a conveying roller and rotates the conveying roller to convey a sheet; a take-up part which is located downstream of the conveying part in a sheet conveying path, and comprises a rotating body for taking up the conveyed sheet; a detecting part which detects a decrease in tension operating on the sheet in the conveyance path between the conveying part and take-up part; and a control part (S106) which controls a rotating angular speed of the conveying roller and/or rotating body so as to make a peripheral speed of rotation of the conveying roller smaller than a peripheral speed of rotation of the rotating body if the detecting part detects a decrease in tension operating on the sheet (S105) when the take-up part takes up the sheet around the rotating body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9 【課題】シート搬送において、簡易な構成でシートの張力変動に起因したシート搬送精度の低下を抑制する。【解決手段】シート搬送装置は、搬送ローラを備え、搬送ローラを回転させてシートを搬送する搬送部と、シートの搬送路において搬送部より下流に位置し、搬送されるシートを巻取るための回転体を備えた巻取り部と、搬送部と巻取り部との間の搬送路におけるシートに作用する張力の低下を検出する検出部と、巻取り部が当該回転体にシートを巻取っているときに検出部がシートに作用する張力の低下を検出したとき（Ｓ１０５）、搬送ローラの回転の周速度を、回転体の回転の周速度より小さくなるよう、前記搬送ローラおよび／または前記回転体の回転角速度を制御する制御部（Ｓ１０６）と、を具える。【選択図】図９
