PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for diagnosing a remaining life of a transformer, capable of reducing cost related to preventive maintenance.SOLUTION: In the method for diagnosing a remaining life of a transformer, when a predetermined length in the vicinity of the end surface of a coil and in the circumferential direction of the coil is ΔL in the transformer having a cylindrical coil constituted by a composite material containing resin, insulation paper and metal, at a place where an absolute value of the change amount ΔW/ΔL of wall thickness W of the coil is larger than an average value of the change amount of the wall thickness W of the whole circumferential direction of the coil, characteristics of the composite material are measured and the remaining life of the transformer is diagnosed using a measurement value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】予防保全に係るコストを低減することができる変圧器の余寿命診断法を提供する。【解決手段】変圧器の余寿命診断法は、樹脂、絶縁紙、金属を含む複合材で構成される筒状のコイルを有する変圧器において、コイルの端面近傍で、かつ、コイルの周方向の所定の長さをΔＬとするとコイルの肉厚Ｗの変化量ΔＷ／ΔＬの絶対値が、コイルの周方向全体の該肉厚Ｗの変化量の平均値より大きい箇所で、複合材の特性を計測し、該計測の値を用いて変圧器の余寿命を診断する。【選択図】図２
