Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems in which representations of spatial audio scenes using higher-order Ambisonics (HOA) technology typically require a large number of coefficients per time instant and this data rate is too high for most practical applications that require real-time transmission of audio signals.SOLUTION: The compression is carried out in the spatial domain instead of the HOA domain. The (N+1)input HOA coefficients are transformed into (N+1)equivalent signals in the spatial domain, and the resulting (N+1)time-domain signals are input to a bank of parallel perceptual codecs. At the decoder side, the individual spatial-domain signals are decoded, and the spatial-domain coefficients are transformed back into the HOA domain in order to recover the original HOA representation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8 【課題】高次アンビソニックス(HOA)技術を使う空間オーディオ・シーンの表現は典型的には、時刻毎に多数の係数を要求する。このデータ・レートは、オーディオ信号のリアルタイム送信を要求する大半の実際上のアプリケーションにとって高すぎる。【解決手段】本発明によれば、HOA領域の代わりに空間領域において圧縮が実行される。(N+1)2個の入力HOA係数が空間領域における(N+1)2個の等価な信号に変換され、結果として得られる(N+1)2個の時間領域信号が並列な知覚的コーデックのバンクに入力される。デコーダ側では、個々の空間領域信号がデコードされ、空間領域係数がもとのHOA領域に変換されて、もとのHOA表現が復元される。【選択図】図8
