PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that in an image forming apparatus including a fixing part in which a roller is heated by an external heating member and a toner image is fixed to a recording material by the heat of the roller, offset toner is adhered to the external heating member.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes an image forming part, the fixing part which includes a roller, a heating member which comes into contact with the roller, and a backup member which comes into contact with the roller, to form a nip part and heats a recording material on which a toner image is formed, while conveying it in the nip part, to fix the toner image to the recording material, a temperature detection part which detects the temperature of the heating member, and a control part which controls power supplied to the heating member, so that the detection temperature of the temperature detection part becomes target temperature.
