Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust tension of an auxiliary machine drive belt to proper magnitude all the time, in a normal operation of an engine.SOLUTION: A hydraulic automatic tensioner includes: a cylinder 10 which has a closed end at a lower part, and in which a hydraulic oil is filled inside; a sleeve 20 provided in the cylinder 10; a reservoir chamber 21 for storing the hydraulic oil which is formed between the cylinder 10 and the sleeve 20, or formed in the sleeve 20; a return spring 60 having a rod 30 provided in a freely movable manner in an axial direction in the sleeve 20, for forming a pressure chamber 32 with the rod 30 and the sleeve 20, and for energizing the rod 30 in the axial direction with respect to the cylinder 10 so as to extend with each other; an energization force adjustment mechanism 50 for adjusting an energization force by the return spring 60 by continuously changing the whole length against the energization force of the return spring 60; and a driving source 56 for imparting a driving force for adjusting the energization force to the energization force adjustment mechanism 50.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】エンジンの通常運転時において、補機駆動ベルトの張力を常時適切な大きさに調節すること。【解決手段】下部に閉塞端を有し、内部に作動油が充填されたシリンダ10と、シリンダ10内に設けられたスリーブ20と、シリンダ10とスリーブ20との間で形成する、又は、スリーブ20内に設けられた、作動油を溜めるリザーバ室21と、スリーブ20内で軸方向に移動自在に設けられたロッド30を有し、このロッド30とスリーブ20とで作動油を加圧する圧力室32を形成するとともに、シリンダ10に対してその軸方向にロッド30を互いに伸長するように付勢するリターンスプリング60と、リターンスプリング60の付勢力に抗して、その全長を連続的に変化させて、リターンスプリング60による付勢力を調節する付勢力調節機構50と、付勢力を調節する駆動力を付勢力調節機構50に与える駆動源56と、を備えた油圧式オートテンショナを構成する。【選択図】図1
