PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passport clerical error arrester that can support passport issuer and indicate passport clerical errors in advance.SOLUTION: This device comprises: an input part 21; a read processing part 23 that reads an upper-stage character string and a lower-stage character string described on a passport 6 on the basis of image information of the passport 6; a character string cutout part 25, which extracts a character string, of the upper-stage character string, sandwiched between the first delimiter and the second delimiter as a family name, a character string, of the upper-stage character string, sandwiched between the second delimiter and the third delimiter as a name, a character string, of the lower-stage character string, sandwiched between the fourth delimiter and the fifth delimiter as a temporary character string, and cuts out characters from the head of the temporary character string to the sixth one as a date of birth and characters from the head of the temporary character string to the eighth one as a sex to generate cutout information; and a judgement part 26 that compares individual information the input part 21 has input with cutout information the character string cutout part 25 has cut out and judges to have no clerical error when both coincide with each other and to have clerical error when both do not coincide with each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】 旅券発行者を支援し、旅券の誤記を未然に指摘できる旅券誤記防止装置を提供する。【解決手段】 本装置は、入力部２１と、旅券６の画像情報に基づいて、旅券６に記載された上段文字列と下段文字列とを読み取る読取処理部２３と、上段文字列のうち、第１区切り子と第２区切り子とに挟まれる文字列を姓とし、第２区切り子と第３区切り子とに挟まれる文字列を名とし、下段文字列のうち、第４区切り子と第５区切り子とに挟まれる文字列を一時文字列として抽出し、一時文字列の先頭から６文字目までを生年月日とし、一時文字列の先頭から８文字目を性別として文字を切り出して、切出情報を生成する文字列切出部２５と、入力部２１が入力した個人情報と文字列切出部２５が切り出した切り出し情報を比較し、両者が一致すれば誤記なしと判定し、両者が一致しなければ誤記有りと判定する判定部２６とを備える。【選択図】 図２
