PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stairs-covering structure hardly causing even reduction in aesthetic appearance by preventing the occurrence of a swelling in the stairs-covering material by gathering steam and water discharged from concrete or mortar stairs between the stairs and the stairs-covering material.SOLUTION: A stairs-covering structure covers concrete or mortar stairs 1 of continuing a horizontal plane 1b and a step difference surface 1c via a stair-nosing 1a with a stairs-covering material 2. A ventilation-water communication layer 3 is provided between the horizontal plane 1b of the stairs 1 and the stairs-covering material 2, and an outside-turning discharge port 8 communicating with the ventilation-water communication layer 3 is formed between the left side end and/or the right side end of a stair-nosing part 2a of the stairs-covering material 2 and the stair-nosing 1a of the stairs 1. Since steam and water discharged from the stairs are discharged from the discharge port by passing through the ventilation-water communication layer, a swelling is not caused in the stairs-covering material. The discharged water flows down on the left side end and/or the right side end of the step difference surface of the stairs, and its flow-down trace is inconspicuous, so that reduction in aesthetic appearance is hardly caused.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】コンクリート製もしくはモルタル製の階段から放出される水蒸気や水が階段と階段被覆材との間に溜まることによって階段被覆材に膨れが生じるのを防止でき、美観の低下も殆ど生じない階段被覆構造を提供する。【解決手段】段鼻１ａを介して水平面１ｂと段差面１ｃとが連続するコンクリート製もしくはモルタル製の階段１を階段被覆材２で被覆した階段被覆構造であって、階段１の水平面１ｂと階段被覆材２との間に通気通水層３が設けられ、階段被覆材２の段鼻部２ａの左側端又は／及び右側端と階段１の段鼻１ａとの間に、通気通水層３と連通する外側向きの排出口８が形成された階段被覆構造とする。階段から放出された水蒸気や水は通気通水層を通って排出口から排出されるので階段被覆材に膨れは生じない。排出された水は階段の段差面の左側端又は／及び右側端を流下し、その流下痕が目立たないので、美観の低下も殆どない。【選択図】図１
