Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for manufacturing wood chips having a water content percentage of 30 to 40% suitable to be used as a fuel, relating to a method for manufacturing wood chips for a fuel including a dehydration process for utilizing wood chips as a fuel.SOLUTION: The apparatus for manufacturing wood chips for a fuel of the present invention aims to process flat or long and thin wood chips having a thickness in a direction orthogonal to fibers and having a water content percentage of 50% or more including free water, and the apparatus includes: a movable mold to be charged with wood chips; a piston to descent and pressurize the wood chips filling the mold; a suction plate installed below the mold to permeate water extracted from the wood chips by dehydration; and a suction mechanism connected to the suction plate to suck the extracted and permeated water from the wood chips. A mold drive mechanism to drive the mold retracts the mold from the outside of the wood chips after a first step of evacuating air present in a chip mat is finished.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】木材チップを燃料として利用するために脱水処理する燃料用木材チップの製造方法について、燃料として利用するに適した30〜40%の含水率の木材チップを得られる製造装置を提供する。【解決手段】 本発明燃料用木材チップの製造装置は、自由水を含む含水率50%以上で、繊維直角方向を厚さとする扁平又は細長の木材チップを対象とし、可動性を有して内部に木材チップが充填される型枠と、該型枠に充填された木材チップを降下して加圧するピストンと、型枠の下部に設置され木材チップから脱水された水が透過するサクションプレートと、サクションプレートに接続され木材チップから脱水され透過した水を吸引する吸引機構とを備え、型枠を駆動する型枠駆動機構は、チップマット内に存する空気を抜いた上記第1工程終了後に型枠を木材チップの外側から退避させるものであることを特徴とする。【選択図】 図4
