PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication method and an authentication device, which reduce burden on those to be authenticated and enable proper authentication.SOLUTION: An authentication device 1 acquires identifier list data D which includes IDs of authenticatable devices 2a-2e that are stored in the respective authenticatable devices 2. When the authentication device is accessed by an authenticatable device and receives an ID stored by the authenticatable device, and if the received ID is included in the ID list data D, the authentication device authenticates the authenticatable device.
