Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle beam irradiation system which improves operation efficiency of a synchrotron by reducing energy change control without beam irradiation as much as possible in the case where ion beam irradiation is finished in the middle during a multistage emission control operation of the synchrotron, and to provide an operation method thereof.SOLUTION: Energy ranges Ea to Ej of an ion beam emitted from an ion synchrotron are divided into a plurality of energy ranges, a plurality of operation pattern data 70 corresponding to each of the divided energy ranges are prepared, and the plurality of operation pattern data are combined to form operation control data 7 of devices constituting the synchrotron. At least one of the plurality of operation pattern data includes initial acceleration control data 701, a plurality of emission control data 702, reduction control data 706, and energy change control data 705.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3A 【課題】シンクロトロンの多段出射制御運転において、イオンビームの照射を途中で終了した場合に、ビーム照射の伴わないエネルギー変更制御を極力減らし、シンクロトロンの運転効率を向上させる粒子線照射システムおよびその運転方法を提供する。【解決手段】イオンシンクロトロンから出射するイオンビームのエネルギー範囲Ea〜Ejを複数のエネルギー範囲に分割し、これら分割したエネルギー範囲のそれぞれに対応した複数の運転パターンデータ70を用意し、これら複数の運転パターンデータを組み合わせてシンクロトロンを構成する機器の運転制御データ7を構成する。これら複数の運転パターンデータの少なくとも1つは、初期加速制御データ701と、複数の出射制御データ702と、減速制御データ706と、エネルギー変更制御データ705とを含む構成とする。【選択図】図3A
