PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a user's burden in color tone adjustment including white balance adjustment.SOLUTION: A white balance adjustment mode is activated when a white balance button has been operated. An image picked up by a scope is acquired as an image for white balance adjustment (step S100). Whether or not an insertion part's tip has been inserted inside a white balance adjustment cylinder is determined depending on whether or not the whole acquired image is approximately uniformly white (step S104). The white balance adjustment cylinder's bottom surface outline is extracted from the acquired image; whether or not the tip's position is at an appropriate position from the bottom surface is determined depending on whether or not the outline's size is predetermined one (step S106).
