Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter evaluating method by which the concentrations of metal particles in the percolate can be accurately assayed to ultra-low levels and the particle removing performance of filters can be accurately evaluated.SOLUTION: A filter evaluating method comprises a filter passing step to obtain a percolate by passing a sample liquid containing metal particles in a medium through a filter to be evaluated; a scavenger passing step to pass the percolate through a metal particle scavenger having an ion exchange group; a recovering step to recover metal particles caught by the metal particle scavenger to prepare a solution; a detecting step to detect the quantity of metal particles in the solution by ICP-MS; and a calculating step to calculate, on the basis of the quantity of detected metal particles in the solution and the quantity of metal particles in the percolate obtained by passing liquid through the metal particle scavenger, the quantity of metal particles in the percolate obtained by passing liquid through the filter. The filter is evaluated on the basis of the calculated quantity of metal particles in the percolate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】ろ過液中の金属粒子の濃度を極低濃度まで精度よく定量し、フィルタの除粒子性能を正確に評価することができるフィルタの評価方法を提供する。【解決手段】媒質液中に金属粒子を含む試料液を評価対象のフィルタに通液してろ過液を得るフィルタ通液工程と、イオン交換基を有する金属粒子捕捉材にろ過液を通液する捕捉材通液工程と、金属粒子捕捉材に捕捉された金属粒子を回収して溶解液を調製する回収工程と、溶解液中の金属粒子の量をICP−MSによって検出する検出工程と、検出した溶解液中の金属粒子の量と、金属粒子捕捉材に通液したろ過液の量とに基づき、フィルタに通液して得られたろ過液中の金属粒子の量を算出する算出工程と、を含み、算出されたろ過液中の金属粒子の量に基づき、フィルタを評価するフィルタの評価方法である。【選択図】図1
