Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable valve gear for an internal combustion engine that enables reduction in pump loss of the internal combustion engine and friction loss when a valve is operated.SOLUTION: A variable valve gear for an internal combustion engine includes: a rocker arm 5 pivotally supported by a support shaft 3 swingably and opening/closing an intake valve 4 along with the swinging operation; a swing arm 6 that has an intermediate portion pivotally supported by the rocker arm 5 swingably by using a fulcrum arm pin 8 and includes a first input roller 15 and a second input roller 13 at positions sandwiching the fulcrum arm pin 8; a cam 2 fixed to a cam shaft 1 and coming into contact with the first input roller 15 to lift the intake valve 4; and a hydraulic actuator 20 that has a tappet 23 coming into contact with the second input roller 13 and a hydraulic chamber 29 having a volume changed by working fluid and causing the tappet 23 to operate to appear/disappear in accordance with the change and that retracts the tappet 23 by contracting the volume of the hydraulic chamber 29 to close the intake valve 4 at any timing while the intake valve 4 is lifted by a cam crest of the cam 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 【課題】内燃機関のポンプ損失を低減するとともにバルブ駆動時のフリクション損失を低減する内燃機関の可変動弁装置を提供すること。【解決手段】支持軸3に揺動自在に軸支され、揺動動作に伴って吸気バルブ4を開閉動作させるロッカアーム5と、ロッカアーム5に中間部が支点アームピン8で揺動自在に軸支され、支点アームピン8を挟む位置に第1入力ローラ15と第2入力ローラ13とを有する揺動アーム6と、カム軸1に固定され、第1入力ローラ15に接触して吸気バルブ4をリフトするカム2と、第2入力ローラ13に接触するタペット23を有し、作動油により容積変化されて、この変化に応じてタペット23を出没駆動させる油圧室29を備え、カム2のカム山によって吸気バルブ4がリフトしている間に、油圧室29の容積を縮小してタペット23を後退させて吸気バルブ4を任意のタイミングで閉じ動作させる油圧アクチュエータ20を備える。【選択図】図7
