Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering column device capable of stably maintaining a high coefficient of friction concerning a friction plate contributing to a locked state of a column body, and steering equipment comprising the same.SOLUTION: A steering column device includes: a column body into which a steering shaft is inserted; a friction plate 47a that is provided in association with the column body; and a lock mechanism that enables alternative selection between the locked state of regulating movement of the column body by tightening a first bracket by the friction plate 47a and the release state of permitting the movement of the column body by loosening tightening of the friction plate 47a.
