PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video signal switching device capable of switching combination between an input side and an output side without causing interruption and stop of display due to authentication operation.SOLUTION: A first repeater IC4a and a second repeater IC5a perform authentication operation when it is detected that authentication request signals are given. When it is not detected that the authentication request signals are given by the first repeater IC4a and the second repeater IC5a and the state of a video signal source apparatus and a video signal output apparatus at a point of time when the authentication operation is completed is maintained, video signals are alternately switched by a matrix switching circuit 1 and transmission of the video signals between the video signal source apparatus and the video signal output apparatus which are authenticated by the authentication operation is continued.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】認証動作による表示の中断および停止を起こすことなく、入力側と出力側との組合せを切替えることができる映像信号切替装置を提供する。【解決手段】第１リピータＩＣ４ａおよび第２リピータＩＣ５ａは、認証要求信号が与えられたことが検出された場合、認証動作を行う。第１リピータＩＣ４ａおよび第２リピータＩＣ５ａによって、認証要求信号が与えられたことが検出されず、かつ認証動作が完了した時点における映像信号ソース機器と映像信号出力機器との状態が維持されている場合、マトリクススイッチ回路１によって映像信号を選択的に切り替えて、認証動作によって認証が確認された映像信号ソース機器と映像信号出力機器との間の映像信号の伝送を継続する。【選択図】図１
