Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document image management apparatus and a document image management program such that in the case that longitudinal writing document images and lateral writing document images are mixed among document images to be managed, the area of a blank where neither document image is displayed is made less than before when those document images are marked and a list thereof is displayed.SOLUTION: A document image management apparatus comprises: character string direction conversion means of converting a document image in one first character string direction between longitudinal and lateral writing directions into a document image in the other second character string direction when the document image in the first character string direction and the document image in the other second character string direction are mixed; and marking position changing means of changing a relative position of a marking image, imparted before conversion of a document image having its character string direction converted, to the document image according to the conversion of the character string direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】管理対象となる文書画像の中に、縦書文書画像と横書文書画像とが混在している場合において、これらの文書画像をマーキングと共に一覧表示するときに、いずれの文書画像も表示されない余白の面積を、従来よりも低減する。【解決手段】縦書及び横書のうち一方の第1文字列方向の文書画像と、他方の第2文字列方向の文書画像とが混在している場合に、第1文字列方向の文書画像を、第2文字列方向の文書画像に変換する文字列方向変換手段と、文字列方向が変換された文書画像の変換前に付与されていたマーキング画像について、マーキング画像の文書画像に対する相対位置を文字列方向の変換に合わせて変更するマーキング位置変更手段とを備える。【選択図】図2
