Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device that when mixing and recording dots with different sizes without using gradation values, can estimate image quality using image quality estimation parameters such as a granular feeling and banding and determine recording ratios.SOLUTION: The image processing device performs a process for determining recording ratios of each of plural kinds of dots for each of gradation value when recording the plural kinds of dots with different sizes. Therefore, the image processing device acquires a plurality of images to be estimated that are created based on a plurality of combinations of recording ratios having different combinations of recording ratios of the plural kinds of dots, to which are added information of recording operation parameters that affect a plurality of image quality estimation values relating to image quality estimation of recorded images, for each gradation value (S601 and S602); determines the plurality of image quality estimation values in the images to be estimated, for each gradation value and acquires total estimation values from the plurality of image quality estimation values (S603); and decides a recording ratio for each of the plural kinds of dots for each gradation value on the basis of the total estimation values (S605).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10 【課題】階調値に拠らずサイズの異なるドットを混合して記録する場合に、粒状感やバンディングなどの画質評価パラメータを用いて画質を評価し記録比率を決定する。【解決手段】画像処理装置は、サイズの異なる複数種類のドットを記録する際の、階調値ごとの複数種類のドットそれぞれの記録比率を決定する処理を行う。そのために、画像処理装置は、複数種類のドットの記録比率の組み合わせが異なる複数の記録比率の組み合わせに基づいて作成される複数の評価対象画像であって、記録画像の画質評価に関する複数の画質評価値に影響を及ぼす記録動作パラメータの情報が付加された評価対象画像を、階調値ごとに取得する(S601、S602)。また、評価対象画像において、階調値ごとに、前記複数の画質評価値を求め、該複数の画質評価値から総合評価値を取得する(S603)。そして、総合評価値に基づいて、階調値ごとの複数種類のドットそれぞれの記録比率を決定する(S605)。【選択図】図10
