Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring method and a measuring device of tool dimensions capable of measuring the dimensions of a tool even when the tool has a diameter larger than a visual field of an imaging apparatus.SOLUTION: According to a machine tool 10, in a case where an entire contour of a tool 20 is not settled in a visual field V of an image of an imaging apparatus 33, the visual field V of the imaging apparatus 33 is moved by relative movement of the imaging apparatus 33 and the tool 20. Further, since a moving direction 53 of the visual field V is decided on the basis of a partial contour line 51 specified on the basis of image data, the imaging apparatus 33 can follow a contour line 54 of the tool 20 by movement of the visual field V. Thus, even when measuring the dimensions of the tool 20 whose diameter is larger than the visual field V of the imaging apparatus 33, the partial contour line 51 in a desired range, for example, is specified. When a plurality of partial contour lines 51 that are specified are connected, a contour line in a desired range of the tool 20 is extracted. By using such the contour line, dimensions of the tool 20 can be measured.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】撮像装置の視野より大きな径の工具であっても工具の寸法を測定することができる工具寸法の測定方法及び測定装置を提供する。【解決手段】工作機械10によれば、撮像装置33の画像の視野V内に工具20全体の輪郭が収まらない場合、撮像装置33と工具20との相対移動によって撮像装置33の視野Vは移動する。しかも、画像データに基づき特定された部分輪郭線51に基づき視野Vの移動方向53が決定されることから、撮像装置33は、視野Vの移動によって工具20の輪郭線54を辿ることができる。こうして、撮像装置33の視野Vよりも大きな径の工具20の寸法の測定に際しても例えば所望の範囲の部分輪郭線51が特定される。特定された複数の部分輪郭線51が結合されれば、工具20の所望の範囲の輪郭線が抽出される。こうした輪郭線を用いて工具20の寸法が測定されることが可能である。【選択図】図2
