Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus designed at a safety standard at an altitude of 2,000 m or less, which can detect that the image forming apparatus is installed at a place whose altitude is above 2,000 m and can be prevented from being used in such a state that safety performance and product performance are not satisfied.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a process part 176 including an electrifying part for electrifying a photoreceptor drum; detection parts (R3 and R4) for detecting discharge voltage Vc of the electrifying part; a determination part 180 for determining whether or not the detected discharge voltage Vc is predetermined threshold value or more (voltage V1 corresponding to the Vc is a reference voltage V0 or more); and a restriction part (CPU) for restricting a function of the image forming apparatus, when the determination part 180 determines that the discharge voltage is the threshold value or more. The threshold value is equal to or higher than a value of the discharge voltage when the image forming apparatus is installed at an altitude of 2,000 m. Thus, the image forming apparatus can be prevented from being used in such a state that safety performance and product performance are not satisfied.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】標高2000mを超える場所に設置されていることを検知でき、安全性能及び製品性能が満たされない状態で使用されることを防止できる、標高2000m以下の安全基準で設計された画像形成装置を提供する。【解決手段】感光体ドラムを帯電させる帯電部を含むプロセス部176と、帯電部の放電電圧Vcを検出する検出部(R3及びR4)と、検出された放電電圧Vcが所定のしきい値以上(Vcに対応する電圧V1が基準電圧V0以上)であるか否かを判定する判定部180と、判定部180により放電電圧がしきい値以上であると判定されたことを受けて、画像形成装置の機能を制限する制限部(CPU)とを備え、しきい値は、画像形成装置が標高2000mに設置されたときの放電電圧の値以上である。これにより、画像形成装置が、安全性能及び製品性能が満たされない状態で使用されることを防止できる。【選択図】図4
