Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller for a fixing device that can reduce deviation in the axial direction of a counterpart member, such as a fixing belt forming a nip without impairing durability, a fixing device including such a roller, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: There is provided a roller for a fixing device including a foam elastic layer that is formed of a porous material having composite bubbles formed by a plurality of bubbles partially overlapped with each other on the outer peripheral surface of a columnar or cylindrical core bar, where the size of the composite bubbles of the porous material present on a cross section in a plain surface including the shaft of the core bar is 0.1 μm or more and 50 μm or less, and orientation angles with respect to the shaft at which the sequence of the composite bubbles shows the most strong periodicity are inverted to each other with the vicinity of the center part in the axial direction as a boundary.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
