Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire manufacturing technology capable of reducing a dent level up to a level indiscernible from its appearance in a manufactured pneumatic tire by sufficiently reducing a rigidity difference between a joint part and the other part.SOLUTION: A ply material manufacturing method for manufacturing a long ply material by cutting top texture having a plurality of cords arrayed in parallel with predetermined pitches and covered with topping rubber to create a plurality of ply pieces, and overlapping and joining the side edge parts of the cut ply pieces is characterized by including the steps of forming a plurality of recessed grooves along the cords in the upper surfaces of the overlapped upper and lower ply pieces in the manner of satisfying predetermined conditions, and then overlapping and joining the side edge parts of the ply pieces.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】ジョイント部と他の部分との剛性差を十分に小さくすることにより、製造後の空気入りタイヤにおいて、外観では判別できない程度までデントレベルを改善することができる空気入りタイヤの製造技術を提供する。【解決手段】所定のピッチで平行に配列された複数のコードがトッピングゴムにより被覆されたトップ反を裁断して複数のプライ片を作成し、裁断後のプライ片の側縁部同士をオーバーラップさせてジョイントすることにより長尺のプライ材料を製造するプライ材料の製造方法であって、オーバーラップさせる上側および下側のプライ片のそれぞれの側縁部の上面に、所定の条件を満足するようにコードに沿った複数の凹溝を形成した後、プライ片の側縁部同士をオーバーラップさせてジョイントすることによりプライ材料を製造することを特徴とするプライ材料の製造方法。【選択図】図1
