PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video recording system and a wearable camera capable of performing video recording only when required.SOLUTION: A wearable camera 1 includes: a separation detection section 130 for detecting that the wearable camera is separated from an on-vehicle camera system 2 by a predetermined distance or more; a video recording timer 132 that regulates the video recording time of the wearable camera 1; a video recording start control unit (CPU) 108 that sets the video recording timer 132 according to a detection output from the separation detection section 130 to control to start a video recording operation.
