Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation method of an arc furnace, capable of improving a carbon content dissolved in molten metal, when creating the molten metal, using a cold iron source.SOLUTION: An arc furnace 1 comprising a melting chamber 2, is used. A cold iron source 15 is put into the melting chamber 2. The cold iron source 15 is made molten in the melting chamber 2 by arc heating. Then, a carbonaceous material is sprayed into the molten metal 17 via a carbonaceous spraying immersion lance 90 immersed to the molten metal 17 created by melting of the cold iron source 15, and with spraying of the carbonaceous material, oxygen is sprayed into molten slag 18 created on the molten metal 17.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】冷鉄源を使用して溶湯を生成する際に、溶湯中に溶解する炭素量を向上させることのできるアーク炉の操業方法を提供する。【解決手段】溶解室2を有するアーク炉1を用いる。冷鉄源15を溶解室2に装入する。冷鉄源15を溶解室2でアーク加熱にて溶解する。冷鉄源15の溶解で生成される溶湯17に浸漬させた状態の炭材吹き込み浸漬ランス90を通じて、溶湯17中に炭材を吹き込む。炭材の吹き込みとともに、溶湯17上に生成する溶融スラグ18中に酸素を吹き込む。【選択図】図1
