PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which in composing a sub picture with a main picture and displaying it, when an average brightness value of the sub picture is significantly different from an average brightness value of the main picture, the picture becomes difficult to see.SOLUTION: Brightness of a sub picture is adjusted on the basis of a luminosity index value of a main picture and a luminosity index value of the sub picture (30). Instead, brightness of the sub picture may be adjusted on the basis of brightness conversion information (f).
