Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle propulsion system that has a continuously variable transmission (CVT) while reducing the size, cost and inefficiency.SOLUTION: A vehicle propulsion system (12) includes an electric machine (EM) (16) configured to generate an unconditioned output; and a CVT (14) having an input side (20) and an output side (22), the input side mechanically coupled to the EM (16) and configured to receive the unconditioned output from the EM (16) and produce a conditioned output on the output side (22).
