Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding method of plate glass that improves wavy deformation of a glass ribbon.SOLUTION: A molding method of plate glass includes a step for suppressing shrinkage in the width direction of a belt-like glass ribbon G. A support roll 40 is installed to support the glass ribbon G in a viscosity range A of 10dPa s-10dPa s. The support roll 40 has at the tip a rotary member 50 that contacts the glass ribbon G, the rotary member 50 being made of ceramic without a refrigerant flow passage therein. At least part of the rotary member 50 that contacts the glass ribbon is made of sintered silicon nitride ceramic containing 0.1 mass% or less of Al, 0.7 mass% or less of Mg, 0.9 mass% or less of Ti, 3.5 mass% or less of Zr, and 0.5-10 mass% of Y.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
