PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle interior lighting device to selectively and properly use function lighting and atmosphere lighting using illumination lamps which can be turned on without increasing the number of the illumination lamps.SOLUTION: On a trim cover of side upper parts of center seats 7 and 9 and a rear seat 11 in a cabin 6 are arranged personal lamps 29 and 31 and a personal SW, respectively. When a lounge mode setting SW 40 arranged on an instrument panel 18 is turned on by a driver, a vehicle interior lighting device 10 is shifted to a lounge mode. In the lounge mode, when an occupant who sits on either of the center seats or the rear seat and reads a book turns on the personal SW, the personal lamp which illuminates the seat as function lighting turns on. When the personal SW is turned off, and a door SW for detecting operations interlocking with a vehicle is also turned off, each personal lamp performs atmosphere lighting in the lounge mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】照明ランプの数を増やすことなく、点灯操作可能な照明ランプを用いて機能照明と雰囲気照明とを適正に使い分ける車室内照明装置を提供する。【解決手段】車室６内の中央座席７、９及び後部座席１１の側方上部のトリムカバーには、それぞれパーソナルランプ２９、３１及びパーソナルＳＷが配置される。インストルメントパネル１８に配置されたラウンジモード設定ＳＷ４０が運転者によってオンに操作されると、車室内照明装置１０はラウンジモードに移行する。ラウンジモードでは、中央座席または後部座席に座る乗員が読書を行う場合、パーソナルＳＷをオンにすることで、この座席を機能照明として照明するパーソナルランプが点灯する。パーソナルＳＷがオフであり、車両と連動した動作を検知するドアＳＷ等もオフである場合、各パーソナルランプは、ラウンジモードで雰囲気照明を行う。【選択図】図２
